L茅vy is a French philosopher, activist, filmmaker and author of more than 30 books including 鈥淭he Genius of Judaism,鈥 鈥淎merican Vertigo,鈥 鈥淲ho Killed Daniel Pearl?鈥 and his most recent 鈥淭he Empire and the Five Kings: America鈥檚 Abdication and the Fate of the World.鈥 His writing has appeared extensively in publications throughout Europe and the United States. He was one of the leaders of the 鈥淣ouveaux Philosophes鈥 movement in 1976. The Boston Globe has said that he is 鈥減erhaps the most prominent intellectual in France today.鈥
L茅vy鈥檚 opinions, political activism and publications also have been the subject of several controversies over the years. L茅vy is co-founder of the antiracist group SOS Racisme and has served on diplomatic missions for the French government.
