澳门六合彩历史记录 has named Sherry Bees as its principal/director of the A.D. Henderson University School and 澳门六合彩历史记录 High School. Bees will oversee the facilities and programs of the K-12 laboratory schools at 澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 Boca Raton campus.
鈥淲e are excited to welcome Mrs. Bees to the 澳门六合彩历史记录 community,鈥 said Joel Herbst, Ed.D., assistant dean of PK-12 schools and educational programs. 鈥淗er experience as a teacher and administrator will equip her to lead the challenging academic and extracurricular environment which has been established in the 48-year history of our school.鈥
As principal/director of Henderson and 澳门六合彩历史记录 High, Bees has administrative responsibility to oversee facilities, finances, programs, recruitment, 澳门六合彩历史记录, accreditation, as well as policy and procedure. She also will work in collaboration with 澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 College of Education and its other colleges and divisions of the university within the areas of teaching, research and service.

Bees began her career in education 21 years ago at Hollywood Central Elementary School where she served as a second-grade teacher, and later as the curriculum coach and Title 1 coordinator. In May 2000, she was selected as the assistant principal of Maplewood Elementary School in Coral Springs, and later served as principal of the school for 10 years. In May 2010, Bees was selected as a finalist for the 鈥淧rincipal of the Year鈥 award for Broward County Schools. She also had the opportunity to lobby in Tallahassee in support of education with fellow members of the Florida Association of School Administrators.
Bees earned both a master鈥檚 degree in educational leadership and an undergraduate degree in community psychology from Nova Southeastern University.
The A.D. Henderson University School is an elementary-middle university laboratory school on the 澳门六合彩历史记录 campus originally funded by a gift from the A.D. and Lucy Henderson Foundation in 1968. The school serves K-8 students that are representative of Florida鈥檚 public school population by race, family income, gender and academic performance. In 1991, the Florida Legislature established across four state universities four developmental research (lab) schools, each designated as an independent public school district, of which 澳门六合彩历史记录 was one. The school holds departmental status in 澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 College of Education with the assistant dean serving as a member of the College Executive Committee. A.D. Henderson鈥檚 mission includes supporting teacher development, curricular innovation, and research and dissemination.
澳门六合彩历史记录 High School opened in fall of 2004 as an intensive dual-enrollment public school established by 澳门六合彩历史记录鈥檚 Board of Trustees. Its challenging program offers students grades 9-12 the opportunity to complete high school while earning more than 90 university course credit hours.
